Location. The Half Moon Villas are located on the north coast of Montego Bay, Jamaica. The villas are one kilometer from the historic Rose Hall Great House. The Montego Bay Hip Strip, featuring shops, restaurants and live entertainment, is less than 12 kilometers away. Features. The villas are part of the Half Moon resort, which offers 400 acres of tropical landscape and three kilometers of white-sand beaches. Dining is available at six restaurants, including Italian, Jamaican, Thai, Indian and English cuisine. Seven bars are located throughout the resort. The resort offers a business center and a cyber lounge with computers and wireless Internet access for a fee. The Half Moon resort features 13 tennis courts, four squash courts, a full spa and a fitness center with personal trainers. The resort offers a championship, 18-hole golf course, featuring Bermuda grass greens and tees, and horseback riding on the beach. Three outdoor pools are available for all guests of the resort. The resort features the Royal Pool for villa guests only. Swimming with the dolphins is available at the resort's private dolphin lagoon. A shopping arcade offers close to 40 specialty shops and boutiques. The Anancy Children's Village features shaded play areas, activity rooms, a wading pool and a sandbox. All activities are supervised by a coordinator, and nannies are available to escort children under three years of age. Organized tennis clinics, volleyball, nature walks, golf, squash, horseback riding and water sports are available for older children. Pets are not allowed at this property.
Guestrooms. Half Moon Villas are provided with a personal cook, butler and housekeeper, except for the four-bedroom villas, which only include housekeeper. Decorated in tropical Caribbean hues with Colonial-style furnishings, the villas feature private balconies and patios with ocean or garden views. All villas offer private outdoor pools. Two golf carts per unit are provided for guests' use. Living rooms offer cable television and CD players. In-room safes and bathrobes are provided in the bedrooms. High-speed Internet access is available for a fee.
Expert Tip. The resort's par-72 Half Moon Golf Course was renovated in 2005 by Roger Rulewich, protege of the original designer, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The golf course is home to the Caribbean's only David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
