Location. The Beachcomber Club & Spa in Negril, Jamaica, is centrally located in the middle of Seven Mile Beach, 10 minutes from downtown. In Negril, there are numerous restaurants, a shopping center, golfing, windsurfing, kayaking and island tours. Visitors investigate ancient island legends, learn how to parasail, or relax in lounge chairs and hammocks. Against a backdrop of sea grapes and coconut palms, the beach opens to a tranquil, reef-protected lagoon. Those traveling with children should be advised that, although increasingly popular with families, Negril features the only sanctioned nude beach in Jamaica.
Hotel Features. Gambino's Restaurant, located on site, serves tasty Italian and Jamaican cuisine in an ocean-view setting. Barbeque grills are available for guest use. Safe-deposit boxes are located at the 24-hour front desk and the multilingual staff provides currency exchange and business, translation and wedding services. Computer and cell phone rentals are available and high-speed Internet access is offered in public areas for a fee. Guests enjoy discounted access to a nearby fitness center and there is an outdoor pool with a poolside bar on site. There is a full-service health spa and guest laundry facilities exist.
Guestrooms. Each of the guestrooms feature airy, tropical décor and tile floors. Cable television is standard and Internet access is available for a surcharge. Refrigerators are available upon request and some units come with kitchens.
Expert Tip. Dolphin Cove, located adjacent to Dunn's River Falls, is a natural cove surrounded by lush tropical rain forest. Visitors can swim with dolphins and examine stingrays, eels, sharks, snakes, macaws and other tropical fish and birds.
