Jake's in Jamaica is a boutique resort with personality and charisma. Its 38 cottages were created by theatrical designer Sally Henzell to commune with garden, sea and sky.
Jake's is a very sensual place. The secluded cottages are one with the environment. Some have decks above the waves. Privacy is paramount. But mixing in is easy. Two restaurants serve fresh seafood and authentic Jamaican cuisine. Jake's is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway, a spiritual retreat or an adventure.

Dining
The food at Jakes is a reflection of the hospitality that is unique to the South Coast.
Fresh is the order of the day- fish; crab and lobster are bountiful and constant.
By prior arrangement Jakes chefs will give a cooking lesson to a maximum of 4 persons. Learn the secrets of Jerk cooking and spices, how to prepare certain exotic tropical fruits like ackee and traditional dishes like 'Run Down'. Lessons have to be planned for midweek, between 3 and 5 PM. Talk with the ladies at front desk to schedule. Jakes Cooking Class: $20. per person.
Little Ochie
Little Ochie offers some of the best and freshest seafood you will find in the world. It's a great setting ? on the beach - old boats have been given thatched roofs, raised on stilts and outfitted with benches and tables.
Blackie, the proprietor, is one of Jamaicas truly great chefs. Pick your fish, shrimp, lobster, crab or sea puss (octopus) from one of several huge cold-boxes - have it weighed and tell them how you want it cooked. A full moon boat ride to have dinner at Little Ochie is the like.
Jack Sprat
Jack Sprat has the entertainment and Bars. One can experience the most Jamaican of drinks such as "Strong Back" and "Bridal Wiss". Too much dancing, then chill out on the beach.
Stress-Release Therapeutics
Joshua's work blends deep and light massage with movement, sensitive touch, and energetic awareness. These elements allow for the spontaneous release of neuromuscular holding and pain. A session generally feels comfortable, safe, pleasurable, and, as tension releases, very relaxing.
Massages are available at Joshua's massage hut at Jake's overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
In addition to massage, Joshua is a trained bodywork therapist able to help alleviate pain and stress due to chronic muscle tension, injuries, occupational stress, posture problems, emotional tension, etc.

Black River Safari
The Great Morass, a 125 sq. mile mangrove swamp, extends inland from the mouth of the Black River - Jamaica's longest river (44 miles). It is possible to navigate a boat up river for about 12 miles. This wetland is a vital preserve for more than 100 bird species, among them - Jacanas, egrets, whistling-ducks, water hen, seven species of herons and red-footed coots. The brackish waters also harbor an underwater bounty of snook, and tarpon that can reach 200 lbs. Fishermen can be seen spear fishing and checking shrimp pots from dug out canoes.
In 1995, the international environmental organization Ramsar Cites recognized The Black River Great Morass as an important nature preserve to be protected.
But the monarch of the great Morass is Crocodylus acutus - a smaller and less aggressive version of the man-eating crocs of Australia and Africa . The reptile has been protected from hunting since the early 70's. Naturalists estimate that there are about 300 crocodiles left in this particular swamp.
Pelican Bar
Pelican Bar, a hut erected on a shoal three quarters of a mile at sea - completely original - is the brainchild of Delroy Forbes aka Flyd, a fisherman from the remote seaside village of Parottee.
Pelican Bar is about a 20-minute boat ride from Jake's to and a must do for anyone visiting Treasure Beach. On the way you will pass a few seaside homes and guesthouses and endless miles of scrubby sunbaked beach.
Pelican Bar is the ultimate spot to hang with a Red Stripe, an excellent place for a morning snorkel and Flyd will cook lunch if it is prearranged. Plan to stop there on a boat trip to Black River.
YS Falls
YS Falls (a 45 min. drive from Jake's) is an exquisite 120 foot 8 tiered falls - one of the most beautiful falls on the island - with cool pools perfect for swimming and a rope swing for thrills. A tractor drawn jitney takes you a mile across pasturelands to get there.
The falls are untouched and immaculately kept. All you will find is a lovely swimming pool, changing room, picnic tables and a drinks vendor.
On route you will pass through Bamboo Avenue and Middle Quarters. Middle Quarters is renowned for it's Pepper Shrimp - a local delicacy that is delicious and hot hot hot! Bamboo Avenue is a 2.5-mile natural tunnel of Bamboo that was planted in the early 1900's. Cool and picturesque, Bamboo Avenue it is the perfect place to stop for a cold jelly coconut accompanied by a bag of Middle Quarters spicy Pepper Shrimp.
Milk River
The drive to Milk River Bath past Alligator Pond is incredible, the route carries you through the Long Bay Morass - an undisturbed 15 mile stretch closed in by mountains and made up of mangroves - this is a paradise for birds as well as Blue Crabs, African perch, fresh water tropical fish and crocodiles. This swamp is also the last refuge in Jamaica for endangered manatees.
Entering the Long Bay Morass you will feel you have left civilization far behind, the area is virtually uninhabited by people and you will rarely pass another car. It's a pristine area that begs for national park status.

Calabash Bay
Nestled amongst tall golden grass and flowering lignum vitae trees on a gently sloping hillside in the rustic fishing village of Treasure Beach, Calabash Bay Villa and Calabash Cottage look out at an uninterrupted view of the Caribbean Sea over a secluded bay little less than a mile long.
Capturing with large windows and always-open-doors the natural beauty of their surroundings, a spacious floor plan and several outdoor lounging areas keep the house cool and the beauty of the seascape always in sight. Starfish and Jewel Fish
These twin rooms, each have queen-size bed and mosquito nets, ceiling fans and their own private verandahs and sitting out area by the sea.
Sea Puss 1, 2, and 3
Hanging out over the sea, you could fish off the verandah. Sea Puss 1, 2 and 3 are each cottages that have a queen-size bed, ceiling fan and romantic private outdoor showers.
They are all deluxe one bedrooms with ocean views.
Mussels
This large 3 bedroom house on the sea is ideal for a large family, or friends or a yoga retreat. It has two large spacious areas, one rooftop and an outside verandah as well as a sitting room indoors; two bedrooms have queen-size beds and one has twin beds ensuite. It also has a fully operational kitchen.
Sweet Lip
A Deluxe two bedroom ocean cottage that sleeps 4, ideal for a family or friends. (The two bedrooms, both have a/c). The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the 2nd has two twins, big closet space, one bathroom with bath, kitchen, dining area, sitting room, two outside beds for sunbathing, private garden.

This little cottage with the sea on two sides and a beach, has two bedrooms, one bathroom. One bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other has twin beds. It also has a fully operational kitchen, sitting area, an outside sitting area, and an outside shower.

Price & Payment
Unless otherwise stated, at the time of booking only a deposit is due. The remanining balance is payable on check-in and charged by the hotel direct. hotel-savings.com accepts Visa, Mastercard & American Express.
For security purposes, should your reservation incur a charge in excess of USD 400.00, you must submit a signed credit card authorization form. This will be supplied upon confirmation of the reservation. If you fail to fax across this documentation within 48 hours, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation. Please note that as per our cancellation policy, there may be a fee for this.
Flight Information
If you are to arrive at your hotel after 5pm, please provide Hotelrentalgroup with your flight information, so that we may be able to advise the hotel of what time they can expect you. Should your flight be delayed, we strongly recommend that you contact the hotel directly to inform them of this.
Period of Stay / Rate Calculation
All stays are calculated and sold "per night". We can only guarantee a room until noon (12pm). Late check-outs can be requested at the moment of reservation in the additional comments box, but may come at an additional fee (usually 50% of the nightly rate).
Cancellation Policies & Charges
Cancellations must be received in writing by e-mail, with as much notice as possible. Penalty fees may apply. Please check the terms & conditions, as these policies vary from hotel to hotel.

No Shows
No Shows will result in a 100% penalty fee.
Reservation & Confirmation
All reservations made on the web sites operated by hotel-savings.com will receive a temporary confirmation number. This temporary number does not mean that the hotel room is available and is only for administrative purposes. Your final confirmation will be sent to you on your official confirmation voucher within 24 hours, unless, due to unforeseen circumstances, the hotel does not get back to us within this time frame. hotel-savings.com is not responsible for any such delays.
Early departures
In addition to the standard cancellation policy, we would like to stress the point that the hotels are very strict regarding changes to the length of clients’ stays. Therefore we would like to inform you that clients departing before their booked check out date will be charged for the remaining nights and, no being made for unused nights.
Check In & Check Out Policy
Your room will be made available to you from 14h00 (unless stated otherwise in the terms & conditions of the hotel). Should you require a guaranteed early check in, the room must be booked and paid for in full for the day preceeding your stay.
Check out time is 12:00 hrs. For a guaranteed late check-out, clients should book for an additional night, charged at 100%.
